Incoming speedmaster 57

Picked this up yesterday and have been impressed so far. The thickness was a worry but I ordered sight unseen and took a punt. Happy I did! A decent amount of the thickness comes from the display case back and sapphire crystal leaving a nicely profiled case. The bracelet looks great as well IMO. Initially I missed having a micro adjustment on the bracelet but fitting it snug actually works well for me.

The dial is warm with a chocolate/tobacco effect and despite it being faux patina I think Omega have done it very tastefully. The recessed markers are a nice touch.

A few quick shots below where I tried to show the profile as it seems to be a polarising aspect but I hope these show that it doesn't wear like a 16mm piece

An excellent addition, sir. The Railmaster suited my wrist best of the '57 Trilogy, but each is a distinctly fantastic watch.

Nice pickup! I had one of these briefly and loved it, but didn’t manage to find a good fit for my wrist. Yours looks great on you, and it’s a heck of a piece overall, and I like the extra functionality of the dual counter.

This speedmaster is not part of the trilogy.

I had one of these for two years. It started out with loving the old look and bezel and hands, and getting a great price on a new example (more than 40-something percent off MSRP, which made it quite cheaper than the Speedy trilogy). I wore it a ton during that time and loved it. And then, suddenly, I didn't love it anymore. It happened almost overnight. The thickness was one thing, but more that I got annoyed with the length of the lugs combined with the thickness. Ended up trading it for a new Railmaster trilogy, which has become my favorite watch along with my regular Speedy Pro. But as long as the '57's dimensions don't bug you, it is one bad ass watch.
