Been wanting a vintage column wheel Omega chronograph for ages... didn't expect it to be this, but should see it in coming weeks...
May be a bit of a wait... it'll be on its way to the great state of New Jersey shortly, where assuming it doesn't get shot in the back of the head and buried in the Pine Barrens by Paulie Walnuts, it'll spend a few weeks being reborn again. I'll post some interim pics soon, but its not a Speedmaster.
Hope to be seeing this one soon, the dial was a bit of a question mark as it was distorted by a bad crystal but it looks great:
They made both Cal 320 and Cal 321 versions of this design type, but this particular dial does have some Speedmaster traits, specifically the concentric subdials that are recessed a little and the tachymeter track around the outer edge. As you can see in this lineup, there was a three register pumper-pusher model as well. My personal preference though is that dress chronographs be two register designs for simplicity and elegance, and sports chronographs be three register. I also like the fact that this model, OT 2872 with its two register layout is the closest watch you can get to a Patek Philippe 5070J without dropping $50k, in that both watches share the same Lemania base, the same layout, and similar case designs. So if you like the idea of a gold dress watch, but also are more of a chronograph guy, its a pretty nice alternative to a constellation, and wears a little larger due to its pushers. The OTHER nice benefit of the Cal 320 is that its basically the exact same movement as the Cal 321, only with the hour register removed, which means that the one pain in the ass problem that occurs in Cal 321 Speedmasters, the infamous hour register creep is not an issue with 320s, since there is no hour register /TO/ creep lol
