South of the border... down Mexico way...

Reference OJ2849 Cal 503 full rotor movement, non-stepped Pie-Pan dial with arrowhead markers, due to arrive south of the equator (which is actually south of Mexico, so technically its coming from North of the border, and across the pacific.

Will do some group shots eventually, but in the mean time, these are the seller's photos, and yes, it does have short hands which means Hoi can sleep at night. Even though EVERY date at six example in private hands has had long hands...

Its due for delivery on the 7th so mid-next week

Oh and here's the discussion thread of the watch originally: http://omegaforums.net/threads/seamaster-fans-got-gold.2130/

    Ash,
This one is a nicer case than your other one. The inscriptions of the words seamaster and waterproof in the caseback are very light and the fact they are preserved here speaks to the nice case condition.

You think so? The other one looks pretty clean, the edges are sharper than they look in pictures, though the polishing is of a mirror like finish, even the bevel around the bezel is sharp on the 2627. Was the screwback caseback on the 2627 meant to have any markings?

When you get this one compare both cases side by side - I know they are not the same case but you'll probably be able to tell which one is closer to a mint factory example. I suspect you'll find this one is nicer. No, the 2627 didn't have any engravings in the back AFAIK.

Hmm ok, the cool thing about it being a 2627 is one day if need be I can buy another 14K 2627 and swap the mid-case given there are no markings serials or identification on it.

Just out of curiosity, what's up with the engraving on the inside of the case back? The lettering seems very wavy or non standard? I'm not doubting it, just wondering. It almost looks as though some of the engraving was done by machine, and some by hand. Thoughts?

    NFW! (nice f-ing watch)

We discussed it in the thread that Ashley linked to in the beginning of the first post before the pics. It's okay, and there are quite a few of these wobbly engraved casebacks around.

Sorry, I either didn't read that or I did and forgot it. Either one is possible.
Did they used to engrave half of it before lunch and the other half after a few beers? Strange.

Entirely possible, if it were here in Australia it'd probably have been miss-spelled ;)

It's either a Monday watch (hung over engraver) or a Friday watch (engraver's brain punched out early).
