Sadly I have to pay 10% GST on the Speedmaster, don't know why people want to become customs agents, you're entering a line of work where you spend your life ruining everyone else's fun :p

Aside from the hands being too long, it looks great! I bet you've been waiting a long time for this day to come!

    Looks awesome!

Mike, I'm not 100% convinced the hands are too long. My 2757 SMPP had the same length hands when I got it. I had the normal pie pan length hands already so it was no big deal to switch them.

Indeed I have! I left the hands is on the basis that Dennis' came with long hands too even if it did look wrong, it just felt like too much of a co-incidence that they both had the longer hands when they were discovered, and that two watchmakers would have had to have changed to long hands separately were it not that way from the factory.

Its very interesting to play with, the winding motion is incredibly smooth yet solid, the setting and date change feels like a brand new watch, everything about it honestly looks and feels like it was made in 2012, its just uncanny, maybe its because I've never had a serviced vintage Constellation or Seamaster but the quality of the tactile feel of it is better than any watch I've ever owned.

I also never realised how much bumpers thud when you move them, I thought it was a subtle thing but you can really feel it bouncing off the springs. Can't begin to tell you how happy I am with this thing it really is like its in NOS condition.

I still think those hands did not come from the factory that way. I wonder if Dennis' hands that were too long were the exact same hands - same style and length with particular emphasis on the seconds hand which in Ashley's watch looks funny to me.

Stunning watch! A 30T2RG would make a great pair...;)

The Pie-pan 503 has the shorter hands, but personally I think they look ok on yours. The great looking dial distracts me from the length of the hands. :p

Question is though, even if we assume the hands were replaced, why would they have done it given there's no lume to fall out and the gold is never going to have corroded to the point of needing replacement

I know the dial is freaking mesmerising in person, I was worried it'd be dull compared to the mirror sided version but Mike said they looked awesome in person and damn was he right, the facets grab the light at different angles like a diamond with so many polished edges

Mike what about some of the 266-283 Seamasters where Omega used the same hands whether the minute markers were inside or out side the off-color chapter, could this be a similar case? On the other hand, the photo of the Grand Luxe Golden 2757 in AJTT does have shorter hands, but who knows if they are original. :D
