    Nice!

The AT owner's club might be the most rapidly expanding group here.

I read the title at incoming at Ryder Cup - as in you got the watch while you were at the ryder cup.... ::facepalm1::

Yeah, there's something about the programming that won't let you string capital letters together. Guess you can't yell in the title of your thread.

Sorry about the tease, Canberra! Didn't notice the drop case until after it was submitted. If I had known, I would have spelled it out. I'm not much for golf but sure do love the watch!!

OK, it's been over 6 weeks since purchasing at AT and since then, it has lost 3 seconds. That is very impressive and I'm looking to see if that kind of performance is common among the 8500's with silicon balance springs. Anyone else have results to share? I'm considering replacing a few 2500 movements, if this accuracy is typical.

The tolerances specified by Omega for the 8500 are exactly the same as for the 2500....and in fact most modern Omegas that are chronometer certified.

I would not count on all 8500's being as accurate as the one you have...that watch is better than most quartz watches, so the performance is exceptional.

These watches are allowed up to 12 seconds of positional variation measured over 5 positions at full wind, 15 seconds of variation at full wind -24 hours, and an average daily rate of between -1 and +6 seconds per day at full wind - all measured on the timing machine. Sometimes you get lucky and get a very good one with very little positional variation, or one that the variation balances out well over the day with your wearing habits.

    Cheers, Al

I guess I'm lucky too. Measured mine recently after a couple months of ownership and it gained 9.5 seconds in 1 month (30 days). The worst it gained was 5 seconds in 7 days.

I've had my 41.5 blue AT for just over a month now. Right now it's running 3 seconds ahead. If I let it sit for a day without wearing it with the crown down, it'll gain a second. If I let it sit for a night with the dial up, it'll lose a second.

I have the Ryders Cup and I experienced less than 5 seconds. Considering the black Golf edition as my second. I just love the design.
