Hi all, Well, I've never owned a longines. Mainly because I couldn't manage to learn everything I would need to about two brands. My head just isn't big enough. But I couldnt help myself when these came up: http://omegaforums.net/threads/two-longines-30ls-minimalist-design.11910/ Here are a few quick shots of my own As a longines newbie, please educate me about this model/movement! And of course please feel free to help me expand the collection by offering me some more Beauties!
The reference 8888 is kind of like a generic Flagship, and a nice way to get into a caliber 30L without spending a mint. Longines 30L and 30LS (S for sweep center seconds) are the production versions of their chronometer 30Z that kicked major ass in the Neuchatel Chronometer Competitions from the late 50's into the mid/late 60's. It's considered by many to be one of the finest calibers of that era.
