I've been around long enough to know that a lot of watches deemed "rare" aren't nearly as "rare" as we thought. And this may be another, but in my internet search I found exactly two, both on this forum. This one looks good to me. Case edges are still sharp. Dial is IMO original. Movement looks good, has just been serviced, and comes with two year guarantee. My only concern is case ref # is different than the other examples. Any other red flags?
I thinks the hands are correct, and suspect you are correct re: lume. Here is the other thread on these: https://omegaforums.net/threads/unknown-constellation-surfaces.61120/#post-762608 One example clearly has matching lume on the hands, the other ??
Dial looks quite nice. Have you given any thought to possibility that the lume was added shortly after purchase?
Before the 14381s surfaced, I think I’d be happier with that dial in a 2852 rather than a 14381. What is the serial number?- the other 14381s were in the low 17m The radium lume in the hands could easily have turned the darker colour. Looks like a nice Connie.
If you speak of my example with matching lume, the lume on my hands had to be sacrificed to get the black paint off. I asked my WM to match the factory plots. I think he did a great job. Nice find!
@smorrisonmd I was camping for this in ebay too. Guess you beat me to it and the price is pretty okay. Would love to see more pictures when you receive it.
This one was nice but went higher than I expected. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/382868628105
Much higher! Wow! @TexOmega my eyes would be watering right now. This one was in great shape too, except for the inscription - which I thought was kinda cool. But for a few hundred more than a dog leg pie pan, I'm digging this one
Another one surfaces! This one, to my eyes, is pretty rough especially the back(inscription or not). Could be the bad pix, would love to see the dial/case with nicely composed, high res pix. Severe rotor wear, too. Lower serial number than mine by a couple of hundred or so.
