I thought the year ended yesterday but I found another one today. I hope you like it as much as I do.
And for the weekend, Found a brand new DLC CWC that comes with issued papers to Royal Marines 42 Commando unit and Precista from 82 with some nice Patina. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/42_Commando Pics from the sellers.
I know the dial above is from first batch of CP2 so they looks different in CP2. The bezel looked fine when I compared with other CP2. The CP1 bezel is obviously different.
I am not familiar with these military watches, sorry. But I can remeber a time when I snagged one after another nice chronograph watch about two years ago and I am lucky today that I did that.
I've noticed this CP2 has 'Leonidas' on the dial in a serif font, whereas most CP2s I see for sale have a non-serif font. Is there a difference in prevalence/rarity between the serif and non-serif CP2?
I don't know which one is rarer but given it is Batch 1 I am guessing it will be more collectible. Also there are some more differences. For e.g 1. Notch 30m subdial 2. The outer ring numbers are inverted. 3. Off course the font of "Leonidas" is different as you mentioned.
Saw some discussion here. https://omegaforums.net/threads/calling-all-military-watch-experts-leonidas-cp2.40126/#post-481888
Beautiful watches. I always wanted a Heuer 1550 or a old hanhart WWII watch... Maybe someday. Here is what I got: A Heuer Israel Defense Force PVD and a Heuer Autavia 11630 Kenyan Air Force
Can you share a picture of the casebacks? I have a few IDF Kontikis but have no experience of the Heuers
That's how it should look (the picture is a random google search picture!). There are a lot of strange/questionable casebacks for military watches out there.
