This is simple a post in praise of XenForo – which if you don't know, is the software the powers OF.

Visiting rolexforums.com, or pretty much any other watch enthusiasts forum, is a bit like ...stepping into a very sad Internet time machine and being plunged back into 2002. As a user experience, it's horrible.

So when I return to OF it feels like a rush of fresh air. 2016 air. Modern, responsive, legible....not horrible! I really like the community I see here on OF, but don't think I would have stuck around here long enough to experience it had it been using forum software from the early 00's.

Incidentally – XenForo...built by guys who in fact built the premier forum software of the early 00's,...and the one on which rolexforums unfortunately still runs – vBulletin. So, yay for progress, total re-writes, and software evolution. Full story.
