It is with great sadness that we learned of the sudden disappearance of our Master Joël Duval, “ Zen ”. R.I.P.
Who is Joël Duval? I had no idea. But after a quick search on the internet I have found another "watch guide" to investigate and read about. I did not know him, so it would be hollow of me to offer my condolences or say "my thoughts and prayers etc", but I sympathise with the loss you feel. Now to begin my "Joël Duval" quest.
I was a member of Forumamontres, created by Joel Duval, since 2007. He is the one who taught me the most about old Omega watches. His knowledge about Zenith and the bible book he wrote about this brand was also impressive. He had written a book about some Omega watches and their history, but, for reasons I never clearly understood, it was never published (he apparently was discussing with Omega but the project didn’t go through). Some sites he created : https://sites.google.com/site/zenithistoric/ https://sites.google.com/site/hourconquest/ http://forumamontres.forumactif.com/forum I didn’nt always agree with his positions, but his death is really a great loss for the French speaking watch collectors community.
