I met Hijak (Ed) at a diner in Chicago last night to purchase a Constellation he had for sale, and it turned into two hours of watches, cars and pie. I had an absolute blast, and learned a ton about dress Omegas. I asked Ed to bring a Deluxe as I had never seen one in person, and he surprised me with a dozen or so watches from his collection. Chicago has a dearth of vintage watch shops, so it was really cool to get together and try on pieces that I had never seen before. I shot a few iphone pics of the table at the end of the night. Ed is the second person I have met in person through OF and both get togthers have been outstanding.
It was a good time and I hope you enjoy your new Constellation Todd! And remember I have dibs on that black dialed Tudor!
Ed was smart enough to choose a diner that is frequented by police officers, made me feel a lot better about what we had on the table. We definitely need to plan a larger Chicago GTG soon with pitpro and adam78.
St. Looey is only a 5 hour drive away, but my collection would experience pool shrinkage confronted with displays like this !
I'd be interested as well. My family all still lives in Palatine and I consider Sheridan and Irving (Buena Park) to be where I'm from. I am in CHI all the time, and will be back permanently sooner rather than later!
It'd be fun to meet at Geneva Seal...and just head south on Michigan, hitting up boutiques. Then jump on the 145/146/151 and hit up Wabash for pre-owned browsing.
