    hi,
I’ve only noticed this the last two times I’ve uploaded images, but the quality is much worse once uploaded to OF than the original on my phone. It’s an iPhone X running iOS 12.1.4 and I’ve tried uploading on safari and chrome.
Has image compression been added recently? Has it been around for a while and I’ve just never noticed?
Have I got something wrong with my phone?
    Thanks.

Looks like it for the inline photo and the meta-data is stripped out too. However if you click the picture a new tab will open with the original photo complete with meta-data.

Not for me it doesn’t. The one that opens is as compressed as the in-thread photo. Maybe what you describe is if the photo was uploaded via computer rather than mobile browser.

OK here is a test, not a brilliant pic but it was taken on this phone I am posting from.

Same result. In the exif data of the full-size you can see the make & model of phone I use and the date the photo was taken.

Phone is a Moto G5 using Chrome browser. Pretty average camera which why I normally use a real camera and edit the photos for normal posts.

So it’s either an iPhone issue or a my phone issue.
