Hello guys. I know it looks like I'm buying a Speedy per week, but I just can't miss out on some opportunities. I need a therapist. Anyway, latest is this. I'm not going to throw around the unmentionable words, but the movement really looks like it was never touched, and the caseback looks pristine. I'm pretty sure it was never fiddled with. Let me know if you have remarks, but case is thick and patina is coherent. To be honest it wasn't cheap, but I bought it because a/ condition is stupid good b/ it's a 145.012-68, and although today 67s and 68s are valued the same way, I think it's really cool to have the lesser known reference. The movement needs a service and is in range. I'm really in love, it's my fifth Speedmaster and it was worth sacrificing other fantastic (but less special to my eyes) toolwatches. Not to mention, the dial has a slight brown hue under the sun, not a tropical but when next to the brown 69 and the black 105.012 you can see that the colour of the 145.012 is between the two... I'll take better pictures tomorrow. I've seen a couple of older threads on 145012-68s, I was wondering how many are on this forum ? Cheers !! And the best for last
True. Very tight movement number range for the 68s and, not to scare, there have been a few 68 casebacks sold on Ebay.
Damn..That means that it won't do me any good to buy the beautiful 321 movement for sale here, source a 145.012-68 case back and instal them both in my really nice 145.022-68 Truth is I consider myself a real "Watch-guy" and I would never do that!
Thanks a lot guys ! I'm 99% sure she's genuine, given where she came from, but the movement starts with 26,55 then an 8 or 3, the pic is a piece of crap If I recall correctly it's OK ? @oddboy @gemini4
It's a 1039 with 516s stamped 4th quarter 1968 Plus it's got a lot of links, most of them I feel, I'm very happy
Mine is 26,554. Bet yours is 3. Should be ok as far as I know. https://omegaforums.net/threads/transition-to-the-transitional.47466/
I would bet it's a 3 also. that is what mine is 26553xxx. There is a very small range in the 27 mil #'s too. To answer the OP's question, I believe there is at least 10 or more of them on here, which is amazing considering this is probably the smallest produced reference of any of the 321 Speedmasters.
still interesting in how 321s overlap with 861s.. (i.e. 26,554 (321) -> 26,555 (861) -> 27,320 (321))
