Finally scored a mate for my BA145.022-69. A worthy ST145.022-69 Apollo XI straight writing in great condition. Both have matching 1116/575 bracelets. Thanks to @Kringkily and @khanmu for helping me with my two watch Speedy collection!
“Excellent” completely fails to cover this. “Wow!” seems weak. But, you get the idea now. Holy grails, both of them, particularly in that condition.
I don’t own a 18k 145.022-69 Speedy (yet) but isn’t the caseback engraving usually crisper, as shown below? Is there a plastic protective. cover on the caseback perhaps?
That’s what i was thinking. I have only an average knowledge of these references at best, but that C looks to be downright a different size than the rest of the text
In my limited experience, yes. It's not the worst I've ever seen but it sure isn't as sharp as I've seen either. After getting the extract, I know it's genuine but maybe the omega detailer had too many cocktails over his lunch break
I remember a little while ago we discussed one of these case backs on a watch that was on auction. That watch also had a similar engraving. Hard to understand why they would ever let them out of the factory in that condition.
Caseback engraving is normal. Some are wonky and some are perfect. Seen more wonky than perfect TBH. Here are some of mine... 6XX 1XX
Congrats, both are very cool pieces. I always disliked the 145.022-69 BA, but the more I see it, the more I like it. I'm thinking that even if I wouldn't wear it daily, I'd like to rock one from time to time
