Sometimes I do pretend while at work:

It was a great day for flying today:

San Francisco Bay was nice and clear today:

P.S. Many thanks to @duc for the official Omega long strap!

sweet! I'd imagine that base 500 bezel isn't of much use at work, huh?

Yeah that tachy scale probably doesn't do much, but that nylon Omega strap around the pressure suit is pretty darn cool!

I was just about to ask if it's a U2 also. Nice ride!

I'm not an astronaut, but...

..... I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night.

...this is at close as one can get!

It obviously is a U2, wasn't aware that these are still in use.
But I looked it up on Wikipedia and they are. Also found this video on YouTube.
@JFingers, are you one of these guys interviewed there?
@gemini4, that could well be him, as the last pic is obviously from above San Francisco.

We seam to have some people with interesting jobs on this forum.

Edit: Oops, just noticed that San Francisco was already mentioned in the OP, I only had eyes for the pics.馃槦

These two videos are also interesting:

Thanks everyone!

@oddboy : our cruise speed is actually less than 500, so it theoretically could be useful, but pushing the pushers with space gloves on isn't really practical.

@Mad Dog : thanks, it's a nice hat. It's less comfortable than it looks. Like wearing an 8lb fishbowl with no peripheral vision and no ability to scratch your face when it itches.

@sky21 : I have @duc to thank for the strap, he figured I might actually get some use out of it.

@gemini4 : not me personally, but yup, that's what I fly.

@Georgieboy58 : Yeah, the Dragon Lady has been flying for over 60 years. Luckily our versions of the planes aren't that old, they're newer models, bigger than the originals, with decades left on their service life. I was not interviewed when Mythbusters came to town, though I was there at the time. That show, along with the full clip of James May going up, are very interesting, educational and entertaining.

I have a super cool job, I gotta admit. If I gotta make donuts, this ain't a bad way to do it!

Blue skies, y'all!

I don't think there is any coolness on Earth that could exceed this coolness.

Did I mention this is really, really cool?

Are these wing riders required to not loose your 'starting gear' (can't call it landing gear as you drop it during start) while taxiing?

I'm going to start buying lottery tickets again because when I win the big one I'm going to buy myself a U2, a hangar, a warehouse full of spare parts, a runway, and a full ground crew.

Great happy snaps JF. You're welcome.

You have the greatest job I can imagine!
