I'm considering this 1969 omega and wonder if this is a good price at 650.00

Hi,

I've found this watch and wondered if it was good deal at a slightly cheaper price than listed. I understand that the Geneve (might be) line is less respected than the Seamaster, et al. From what I've seen these watches can sell from ~350 and upwards to $700 without a bracelet. I just don't want to pay more than I need to. What do you think?

Pleas post photos not links.

But no I don't think it worth that. Dial has some issues, case has been polished for resale and the bracelet in not correct for this reference. Oh and the movement has had rotor issues at least in the past and perhaps present.

Thanks, ..I see the bulge.

I'd ask how do you do that?....capture it as a photo?.... but that may be another conversation, ...or direction to a sub.
Thanks for your help.

white dials: download -> open with photo-shop or photo-scape (easy to handle ans IMHO free)-> darken the picture (multiple times)

Red arrows shows where the rotor was rubbing the inside of the case back, blue is where the rotor was rubbing on the bridge.

Also it’s in Japan, so you may need to factor in import duties depending on where you are.

Thanks for the white dial progression. Using photo-shop etc might be more than I know or can use at the moment.

Firstly these late 60’s Geneves are entry level models, below the Seamasters, Seamaster chronometers and Constellations.

You don’t need to edit the picture to see there are at least two scratches on the dial. One under the 1 o’clock marker and another couple between 11 and 12. The dial itself also isn’t great, it doesn’t pop and the small lume dots at the top of each marker are dark green and mouldy looking. Nice dials would have nice yellow looking lume.
The case has also been polished and lost its sharpness.

Of course all this is to be expected on a 50 year old watch but being entry level, there are lots of there about and as the quality was good it’s actually not that hard to find one with a good dial, sharp case etc.

That is up to the people themselves.

What is?
to judge and then make a picture-processing and darken the dial

After you see the dust and dirt around the idexes!

Some want to see this - some not.
