I have the speedmaster professional 145022-68st and purchased the 1171 bracelet to replace the original that came with the watch. My question is I saw one on Ebay a 3570.50 with the 861 cal and he has a 849 bracelet on it, is that the correct one?? It has the same stamping on the case as mine and his too is from 1968.
    Thanks

Sorry can you post pics of both yours and the eBay one? The thing you have to keep in mind is that from 1967 - present the Speedmaster Pro has had almost no changes at all, you can interchange the Speedmaster Pro bracelets over that period of time, fitting a modern bracelet to a vintage Speedy and vice versa and they all fit correctly.

The 3570.50 is a more modern version - it would have come with an 1861. If it has the 861 with a serial number from 1968 it's a frankenwatch.

Okay, thank you.I'm working on getting some pic's as soon as I can get my son to stop by. Mine had the 1039 bracelet so when I went to ofrei I saw the replacement as the 1171 so that is the one I bought and thought that should be like original to my watch. That speedy is on Ebay right now with 3 days left on the bidding and it sure looks like new but like I said not knowing, he was showing the 849 bracelet with it.

Oh ok, the 849 is actually the endlink, the bracelet is the 1998 bracelet that goes on the 3570.50, like the 1171 bracelet has endlinks that are marked 633 (the links where the bracelet joins the case)

Okay, your welcome. I know when I bought the 1171 I had to give them the serial number so they could give me the correct ends for it. I never knew it was this complicated.

I think more importantly, what did you do with your old 1039 bracelet?

May I suggest a rollerball derby as the most effective way of determining who wants it most ?

Jus in case you missed the subtle hints - there are several here (myself included) who are interested in taking it off your hands :)
