Hello Howard. Nice to see you on the forum.
Omega Forums is not an auction site. It's a forum for collectors and people who have a special interest in Omega watches. Fortunately for us, It also has a sales and wanted section. The membership includes expert Horologists who can assist those of us who aren't. We can eves drop on their analysis and learn. It also means that anything that is placed on the sales forum is on view to those experts.
Good place to buy or sell a watch but 'ya gotta pay ya dues' first! By the time you get to 200 posts you ought to be better informed to sell your watch in the best condition and for the right price. I thought the same as you when I joined but then found it works well and is in my best interest. If I could have advertised my watch straight away, I would have taken £50 for my vintage 1960's Speedmaster.
If you study the reply to questions on watches you will get to know how to spot dodgy stuff that is offered on some other Internet sales sites. As you can see from my name I know very little about watches. Fortunately, by reading and taking advice on board, I learned that my mid 60's, brown dial, Speedmaster is worth more than £50!
Give it time and you'll see that It ain't broke and don't need fixing! Oh and by the way. You've helped me add another post toward 200.
168 now!... Cheers!
