Nice watch. According to the “blue book” by Meggers and Ehrhardt, this one was produced in 1910. Again, according to the blue book, there were 31,860 of the 5th model A. Lincoln produced between 1908 and 1924. Lincoln practiced law with John Stuart, Illinois’ first president. He was a close personal friend of John and a Jacob Bunn of the watch company. Lincoln was the only American president to have a watch grade named after him.

One little detail you missed in your description is the gold train wheels.

Thank you for posting this history of the Lincoln line within the Illinois company Canuck. Very much appreciate the info.

President McKinley was also a line of watches made by Hampden:

    https://mb.nawcc.org/wiki/Hampden-Watch-Co

They're really pretty movements but sadly not as popular because Hampden isn't as widely collected these days.

I didn't mention the gold gear train because last time I listed a pocket watch with gold gears on another forum I received several PMs asking what the scrap value of the wheels was. I know these guys weren't collectors, but it was frustrating.

I'm happy to see that's there's some excitement in this watch. I held off posting it because I didn't know if pocket watches were of any interest here. Glad to see I was wrong.
