I’m basing my choice more on aesthetics since when ever I look at the watch I keep thinking of this car. There are obviously more ways to make associations.

So, im going with Globemaster opaline silver dial and the Aston Martin DB5. The shades and hues of silver and steel in combination with the curves of the GM remind me of the DB5. The dark linear elements and the dark leather strap contrasting against the silver also have similar aesthetics to how the silver body of the car contrasts against its dark linear shadows and the black rubber tires. Even though the GM is not old enough to be considered a “classic”, the elements it incorporates from the constellation line of the mid century echos the understated classic timeless nature of the db5, for me.

The db5 being the classic James Bond car makes a connection to Omega being the current 007 watch (not the GM of course) but I wasn’t really thinking along those lines...

Also, I’ve beem trying to figure out if the GM screws more towards sports or dress watch, and have come to the conclusion that it’s somewhere in between. While the db5 is a classic sports car, it retains a kind of sophistication that transcends its categorical sport element, which I feel is shared in part by the GM (though the GM May be more towards the center).

That's funny, recently one astronaut shared such a comparison with me about the "company" wrist watch and his own :D

Nope, not Dennis... but my bad. Just trying to create a fun topic, but sorry if it runs against the grain of the forum manifesto.

Ah, well you’ll have to excuse me as I’m relatively new to all this watch stuff. By no means did I intend to lower anyone’s IQ, nor be responsible for the intellectually disabled... never knew casual banter could be so dangerous, but I will be careful in the future when considering venturing outside the realms of rigorous horological discourse.

I suppose at least it didn't cause you to overreact;). You don't have to open every thread you know. As this had "watch" and "car" in the title, you could have just ignored it.

How about the "Open Discussion" sub forum? No, hang on...

Let's be honest, the "Open Discussion" sub forum has some odd topics but, you don't have to read any of them. I mainly read the Vintage forum but sometimes use the "latest" function and come across some weird discussions.

    To the OP: "E-Type" :D.

    This....... just this.

Yes theres random topics on here but unless its clickbait then just dont open it. I suppose there could be a sub.... sub forum just for "drivel" for the guys who just want to come and BS with each other. I belong to other non watch forums and it's the same thing only it seems to be the norm (without complaints) that people just wanna hop on and conversate about random stuff.
