If you were in charge of Omega’s new range....

I was just reflecting on the Omega range which is huge and obviously notable for the seamaster, railmaster, flightmaster etc. If you were in charge of Omegas product development what new range would you introduce?

I’m tempted by a Roadmaster but maybe doesn’t have the right ring to it!

Omega has a military/field watch history that their marketing people have not yet crassly exploited sympathetically explored.....

I think the nearest nod to it in the recent past was the Dynamic III

Good shout. I was also thinking about the RAF or special forces angle. And what about a ‘Return of the Jedi’ reissue of the 145.023.

Thinning out the range would be a start and making just one Speedmaster LE per year to make it more of an event.

Can you keep the suggestions realistic please? 😁

For the sake of nonsense talk, they could add a line of pilots watches named Skymaster 😗 though I believe the name is already spoken for.

The Fieldmaster could be a line of rugged field watches very much in keeping with the tool watch theme Omega does so well. Start with a 38mm, a 41mm, and a 40mm GMT. They should all have at least 100m water resistance and come stock with leather and a NATO.

The Swatch Group already produces something along these lines, except they call them Hamilton Khakis, not Omega Fieldmasters 😁

...Toastmaster?

(I.e. especially useful in public speaking scenarios?)

Spaceflight history has been well documented and even there Omega " has dropped a few stitches " as inaccuracies were legio in the (recent) past.
Military watches were probably less documented and indeed military Omega watches history has been neglected as are some of Omega's most important projects 😗

I would change the whole ordering of straps and bracelets to a web shop.

Log on and order a few spring bars and a NATO, maybe a 18mm strap for a vintage Seamaster.

I would order more Omega straps this way if it was as easy as ordering from Watchgecko or any other strap site.

And also, buckles! Some LE buckles are gorgeous.

How about the Trumpmaster range, with great and unmatched designs
It would have to be gold plated (not solid), bejeweled with fake stones, and tell you the wrong time constantly. But since you already bought it, you just tell yourself it’s right despite every other clock telling you otherwise.
Oh, and they will be made in Russia.

Sounds about right, he does have a thing for trashy Eastern European baubles.

Seriously though, I think Omega is doing a good job looking into thier archives with the 1948 Seamaster (although the price on that is prohibitive for what it is), and the trilogy line. I think they would be foolish to not reissue the SM300 .024 considering the demand for the vintage pieces and the prices even Watchco’s are commanding, they clearly have access to all case/dial/hands parts needed to reissue the line- just design a modern version of the 552/565. Don’t jazz it up or inflate the size- just do a 1:1 reissue. If they were to put that watch out at $4-5KUS, I think they would fly.

And call it the Omegaco 😗

Never going to happen at $4-5 more like $8-9k if it was Omega done.....
