If they just made the watch and sold it then 4-5k would be doable, and cheaper in the grey market, for a non date SM300. Now if they made a big production about how they are bringing back the SM300 and then call it a limited edition....... yeah... I can see it being way overpriced.

But a speedmaster pro with all its complications is only priced at around 5500 from omega and cheaper in the grey. A non date SM300 should be priced around there as well.

I know I’m the odd one out here as Omega LE bashing is the cool thing to do on the internet. However I’ve never got this, how can one complain about having more choice?
I certainly don’t like every LE, nor everything in the Omega’s massive range, but that’s why I’m glad they make so many, gives them more chance to make the ones that they get right for my tastes....,,,,,and when Omega gets it right they get it right!
Case in point Omega’s moonshine gold 50th, damn that’s one of the most beautiful watches across not just speedmasters, no just Omega’s but all watch brands imho, then there’s last years Apollo 8 dark side....what can I say, if you’ve held one of these you’ll get what I mean ;)

If they’d thin the range what watches could we potentially have missed out on?
So I say to hell with it more LEs more range please Omega :)

I have to agree about thinning it down. A new LE every week and a broader scope of models doesn’t speak to buyers bounty IMO but rather ADD and indecision. When you spread the product line too broad the customers get whiplash. You buy a $8k watch and the next month a “better” model comes out- this doesn’t create a collectors frenzy at this price level (they arent $29 Beenie Babies) but buyers regret...should have waited for the next LE, maybe that will be better.
I think what Rolex has done successfully is keep the product line tight and consistent with a few major pop LE’s. Yes there are customizable options within each model, but the model range is very concise.
I think Omega waters down their pot too much.

OK...here’s a pitch for the “Beltmaster” [or possibly the “MadDogmaster”]...a standard issue Speedy Gonzales Moonwatch with one ridiculously long Omega replica NASA strap...since I had to loop two Omega replica NASA straps together to pull off the circus stunt pictured below...

I think what Rolex does works for Rolex, I don’t think Omega should copy Rolex business model at all.
I’m glad they each take a different approach and both should stick to what works for them.
I think what Omega does works and works better then most here give then credit for.

I’m not saying they should adopt Rolex’s model- for the love of god no! But throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks doesn’t work either.

Yes, it seems to lessen the prestige of the brand. Although, they get all of their creativity and mucking around out with LEs and keep the classic Speedy Professional more or less unchanged since 1969. I like the consistency and iconic nature of the Speedmaster Professional.

    I’m with you.

Choice is good, stock in boutiques is good.
Something Omega has over Rolex at the moment.

I spent squirrelled away Rolex money on a Speedy Tuesday ;)

Introduce a Jedimaster range. Blue luminova hands vs red indices. Yoda-green dial. Date window locked on May 4th. They’ll fly off the shelves.

If was in charge, i would try to make a watch with a bit slimmer profile, case size of about 38mm, less bling more lume, handwound, try to invest some time in developing a new kickass bracelet clasp. You could call it a Kickassmaster Professional.
