If the Chinese beat the USA in this 2nd space race, will it take some luster from the Speedy?

Since China stole so much technology from the USA, perhaps we can steal some of their train technology and update our transit with Amtrak. ::stirthepot::

What would you say is the second best/iconic "space watch" behind the Speedy? Pogue? Bulova Lunar Pilot?
2nd best space watch is also probably the Speedmaster. X-33 gen1/gen 2.
Rolex GMT Pepsi a close 3rd.

Interestingly, it looks like last August 2025 the four astronauts of the Artemis II mission received their Omega Speedmaster X-33 chronographs !

So that's why mere mortals can't get one now.

They’re due for a new Speedmaster X-33 based on the new Calibre 5701, they’ve only used it in the Americas Cup Regatta timer so far but it’s the biggest leap forward for the X-33 in a long time with a ton of new features and tech along with a major improvement to the LCD.

Not all of it will translate to space use but with some changes a lot of it could find some use.

I'd love to see Omega build a new speedmaster from the ground up for space travel. Forget about pre conceived notions, luxury. Let's get a true space watch!

(Not these pseudo "flight" speedmasters they keep releasing every so often).

Marstimer X-33?
Wasn't that based on the "old" x33 from 2014? I feel like there have been huge tech developments in what they can put on your wrist thesedays and Omega should explore that space.

It's going to be NASA Speedmaster X-33 for a while, while Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin crews have chosen the manual winding Speedmaster
