If I'm patient, how much would a Lange 1 from 1994 cost me?

I have been looking at eBay, watch forums, and auction sites (should I be looking elsewhere?). I think I can find one for $20k easily, but could probably get one for $13-16k if I'm patient. Does this sound reasonable?

Also, I found this to be very helpful. http://www.timeandwatches.com/p/history-of-lange-1.html?m=1

Any other links you would advise a newbie to check out?

Think there is one not quite that old floating around on one of the forums for a great price right now. Might want to check around!

As Steve9pm mentioned, Watchrecon would be helpful.

The price depends on the type of metal. YG L1's are less expensive than the RG or WG ones, but all should be below $20k. The WG ones currently run around $17-19k, and you might be able to get a YG one for about $16k; I think $13k might be tough. All these assuming B&P though. Do factor in servicing - it's not cheap. Happy hunting!

Since it's their most iconic watch and also the year of its inception I'd imagine you're talking mega bucks....and that's if you can find one.

Good luck with this one.

To continue in the same spirit, I wanted to make an update on the Lange 1 from the early years.
We are talking closed case back in solid gold found on the first examples of the Lange 1 (eins). Auction house Dr. Crott sold 'Three of The Best Lange 1s' ultimo last year 2019. The Lange 1 ref. 101.001 from 1994 with closed caseback was predicted to hammer at €10-15.000, but hammered at €40.000.

Supriced? Not really. On the article from Hodinkee, owner Ben Clymer concurs that it is the 'simple rarity' of this Lange 1, that makes for the incremental value. We can add that the first watches from Lange's introduction year 1994 are turning vintage and therefore entering a category of possible increasing collectability.
Well, just some thoughts on the subject.😉

Enjoy the article if you haven't already read it.
