Won't be such a bargain when it gets confiscated if someone tries to get one serviced at an authorized agent, I'm sure merchant has the serial numbers.

No doubt, Rolex in particular take that rather seriously, and thieves being thieves, you'd imagine the Rolex case would be their first target

The Seamaster with the grey strap is particularly fetching!

Although Selfridges in London has a Rolex room, the Manchester branch doesn't. I was up in Manchester a few weeks back and paid a visit (and to clarify, I wasn't helping myself to four finger discount! :whistling:), they have (or had) a nice selection of brands - AP, Hublot, JLC, Cartier, Breitling, and Omega, I think. Not on the same scale as the watch room in the London branch, it's a staggering place - had the chance to play with some APs last time I visited

Certainly is! London truly spoils you for watch shopping, two excellent Rolex boutiques, the Omega boutiques are none too shabby too! And that's before you get onto all of the "normal" ADs

Old Bond St? I went to the Mappin and Webb a couple of shops down from this and had the chance to try on a Lange & Sohne Datograph (my all time grail watch!) Sadly, as it was a Sunday, the PP boutique and many other boutiques were closed, just Rolex and Omega were open that day

Dennis, the Seamaster one-button in the first photo on the far left gets my vote! That's a 9 out 10, IMO.

Thanks Stephen. That's the Seamaster Chronostop caliber 865 from 1967. It's a favorite of mine for days off when I'm hanging around the house.

Hey! Since when do I need an agent? And since when am I selling that one?

Well, admittedly I'd sell almost any watch if somebody was offering stupid money. So would anyone here. If somebody offered you $86,000 for your Rolex wouldn't you take it? :p

Nothing makes it easier to resist temptation than a proper bringing-up, a sound set of values - and witnesses.
