Okay gang, my turn for one of these boring threads. My buddy Jim asked me to find out about his father's "mid 60's" Omega Seamaster.
His pictures suck. Sorry. Why is it nobody out there is capable of taking a picture that is actually in focus? ::facepalm1::

Anyway, it's clearly nothing special, but it's his fathers and he knows nothing about watches. he asked what it would cost to service and I told him "likely far more than it is worth" but hey... You what do I know?

Looks like a '62 - '66 caliber 552 judging by the font of Seamaster (particularly the first S). The reference will start with a 165.xxx (1 for man's watch, 6 for self-winding center seconds, 5 for water resistant non-date). Can't tell you anymore because I'm at work, but somebody here with access to reference material could fill in the rest.

I would guess caliber 552 as 562 has a date feature. Have a watchmaker open up the back and snap a few photos of the movement and inside of the case back and post the photos. The knowledgeable members here will be able to help then.

Oops, did that correctly for the reference number but not the caliber number. Doh! Making the correction now.
