    Hi Guys.

A couple weeks I posted this thread with a very poor photo to ID this dial...

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/help-id-this-dial-please.70136/#post-882936

Now I have the dial in my hands I have taken some clear pictures. I was hoping someone here can lock down the specific details of the dial as I know there are a number of variants...

The number (and symbol) stamped on the back is... 5 9 (STAR) 5 9 2

    Here we go..

I guess my first question is, is there any difference between a 165.014 or 165.024 dial?

The 165.014 dials in this design are marked “Swiss Made” only - without “T”

I believe most 165014-63 and the 165014-64 are tritium and can use your dial.
Perhaps some 165014-62 although mine has radium lume and the older 14755 type dial

Your title refers to a reference 165.014........aka 165 DOT 014.
There is no “period” in these references. 165014-62,63,64.

Was going to sell the dial here on the forum, but I have no where near the 200 post count, so its off to every ones favourite internet auction site. It will go up on Sunday night.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Not true!

Try looking up parts at a suppliers website without using the “.” The Omega Vintage Database uses it as well.

Some case contractors for Omega didn’t use it, but Omega does.

In fact, Omega uses an extra “0” to the right of the “.” that is not found on original casebacks if this era. Looking up 165.024 will get you nowhere on Omega’s site.

    Why? Because they can.

Shouldn’t you be concentrating your time on interpreting “periods, commas and parentheses” in the new tax law?
Leave casebacks to those of us who don’t have a tax “busy season” to worry about :)

The rule is that there is no rule. On the Omega Extranet, you don't use dots at all...you will get "No results found" if you use them there.

So Omega doesn't use dots, except when they do...
