    Hi

My beloved Seamaster which I have inherited from my father has been stolen from my house. I suppose its gone forever.
    Can anybody tell me:

Approximate year and model of the watch/dial
Approximate cost of the watch for my Insurance
Where to look for an exact copy

    Tears and thanks
    Peter

Worth more than $100 and I think he needs a value for a insurance claim.

Both get yourselves a avatar and more help will be forthcoming. @peterbuus there is a thread not long ago about crosshair Seamasters

Looks like a 1950s Seamaster 2846 Cal. 501 to me. You can usually find these for around $450. Sorry to hear about the theft! :(

its different if its gold...or better yet go to a license broker so they can give you a certificate for its value...otherwise insurance companies will based it on their computation taking into account acquisition value for a brand new...we cant give you certification for our appreciation...

isnt it that when you apply for insurance you declare the value of the items to be insured?

So! If YOU were offering this watch for sale, you'd offer it at $100.00? Please note, the dial says OMEGA, not TIMEX! Make certain to let us know when you decide to thin your collection!

well im not selling my watches they are priceless...anyway its value depends on how much the seller is willing to let it go and how much the buyer is willing to pay for it...but insurance i dont know declare higher value and pay for highe premium...

Huh, your watches are priceless but OP's watch is only worth $100...I see where you're coming from now.:cautious:

Note to self: never deal with "theridewill' on Omega Forums when it comes to buying or selling watches!

How have you managed to post here 66 times without me telling you what an asshole you are?

EDIT - just looked at some of your deleted posts, particularly the ones about caseback removal. I think we're going to be keeping a close eye on you for detrimental advice.

No when you get broken into you list what was stolen and what it was worth on your homeowners insurance. You don't call them everytime you buy something

My boat insurance I don't tell them every fishing rod and reel I buy as I would be chatting to them every few days......

Just help a guy out like Kyle L did it's not hard. If you don't know don't post...

Nah, the dead rabbit followed by the squirrel eating the pancake is still the leader in the clubhouse.
