    Hey people

I just found my fathers old watch - a 50 years (approx.) old Omega Calendar. It has been missing for a long time, and as you can see, time has not been gently on it. I have no experience with any type of vintage watches whatsoever, so I'm hoping you guys could help me with a few questions:

    - What year is it originally from / can you identify a more specific model, than just "Omega Calendar"?
    - I would never sell it, but is it worth anything?
    - Could it be restored nicely, or do you think the patina is fine?
    - If it should be restored, how would you do it, and what buckle would suit it?

I'm very excited to have my fathers watch back, and it works perfectly fine.

Thanks a lot in advance! :)

Please get it serviced, you don't want to damage it.

Looks like a 1950s Omega Model 2849 with movement 502/3. Would leave case alone (maybe a bath!), polish crystal and have the movement serviced. Crown looks replaced but is still desirable.
