Hi, I am the new owner of my first omega watch.
What is the purpose of the small hole on the case crown side.
Picture shows the area.

That’s to set the day or date.

Someone will know where an instruction manual for these is if you wait a bit.

Thank you for the explanation.
That seems logical.
Having trouble making minute hand turn in relation to hour hand. It's 15 mins behind.
Guess it needs overhaul, but where do I find a good repairer in Sydney,Australia?

I'm no expert but my modern watches that have push pin button for date setting came with a small "gold pushing tool". The tool is usually gold - soft with perfectly designed end point so it will not damage the setting button. So be carful if you use a paperclip or something...I'd try to search for a tool that someone has for sale... good luck

A wooden toothpick does the job 😉

Update on watch:
To set the minutes hand, the dimple in the crown is pushed in for 5 sec released then quickly pushed in again. The long hand then moves slowly to set the required time. I found an excellent utube demo by searching for " settings omega 1345 movement"
The hand still won't move so told ebay seller and he said to return to him and he would inspect it and refund the cost.
So now it's packed up ready for post office next week.
I bet others have had simular happenings???
