Identification Help

A few weeks ago, I picked up 1916 silver Trench watch from a flea market. It was a non-runner, all the silver was black, the original celluloid glass had turned a deep orange ... but it was cheap and quality.

Now it's running and ready to be reassembled. I've been trying to identify the maker and I'm failing miserably. Even Ranftt seems unable to give a positive result so, I turn to the world's best experts ... yooz guys!

The dial is sterile but the movement well marked:

Does anyone recognise the maker's mark or calibre?

Well, I've found the maker by randomly searching images of wqtch maker's marks.

The company is A. Michel SA and seems to have been established in 1916, the same year this watch was made.

Anyone know anything more about them?

A page from Mikrolisk. It seems the Michel name was popular. FWIW. Not a one in this listing was founded in 1916.

A. Michel SA based in Grenchen Switzerland, became part of Ebauches S.A. and like many other brands, faded into obscurity in the mid 1970s.

What's the diameter of the movement across the main plate?

(in millimetres)

Looks. close enough to be a 13''' movement.
The closest I can find is an AM221, although the click spring is different.

I couldn't see your setting lever spring/set bridge, but you can check that against the shape in the pic.

Thanks a lot. I'm in my way our the door for the OF Pie and a Pint ( or Michelin dinner and a crate of Ripasso, as its now become). I'll have a good read when I've sobered up tomorrow!
