I am a new member to the forums and as of today an enthusiastic new Omega owner. My father-in-law just gave me three of his old Omegas - an automatic, a manual, and a somewhat homely square F300hz 'electronic' Geneve from the '70s (I believe). I love them all, but of the three the automatic is my favourite. While my father-in-law is a lovely and very generous man, he's not a details guy... Here is the extent of what I know -- he purchased the automatic watch in the '50s while he was in the military. I've done some research on my own and while I've seen similar watches online, I've not seen one that is identical. Also, the space between the 1 and the 2 in "12" looks off to me...so maybe it's a redial or something? I've attached photos with the hopes that someone may be able to tell me a bit more about this watch. Many thanks in advance. Eric
The Google knows all, sees all, and tells all: https://www.google.com/search?q=ome...i60l3j69i59.2223j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 There are several examples with the same FX6040 reference number. It's kind of an oddball. A Swiss made steel case with a US model case number. But Omega did a lot very strange things in the late 1950's. gatorcpa
