Nice. Not sure if band is original and just an added item some retailers have on hand to add to watches for more money. No Omega markings

Hands are not original. Both look like the tips have been trimmed and hour hand does not match the minute. Look at the upside down image. Tail of the hour hand is a different design. Rounded end then pointed. Minute tapered

yes, that could happen. Its not a water resistant watch.
Yea even when new, this is a watch you wouldn't really want to get wet. Decent daily-wear trustworthy water resistance didn't start to really happen until the 1960's.

I am not sure either it was kept on a safe for about 50 years because Brazil was too dangerous to use such a a piece, but here where I live it's ok to wear it

Got a picture from the service, I was able to get the year and model using chat gpt.

According to gpt it matches the timeframe my grandfather told me, being a 1954 watch.

This is according to gpt

🔍 What we see

Movement engraving: “OMEGA - SWISS - SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS - 266”

Serial number: 14,199,482

Caliber: Omega Cal. 266 (part of the famous 30T2 family, manual-wind, small seconds).

Serial in the 14.1 million range dates production to 1954.

---

✅ Identification

Your watch is an Omega manual-wind dress watch, Caliber 266, produced in 1954, solid 18k gold case, fitted with a custom solid 18k woven bracelet.

References that used the Cal. 266 around this period include Ref. 2639, 2657, 2623, and similar 1950s dress references.
