After years of owning this watch, which was given to me by my grandmother, I finally got around to removing the back. (I used to think that the movement would come out through the crystal side, but I recently noticed a seam for a case.) It belonged to my late-grandfather, who passed away when I was a toddler. From my online research, it looks like a cal 106, rose gold, from 1956. It originally had a rose gold bracelet, but I misplaced it or I think it was taken by some house painters many years ago. Thoughts, comments, feedback. Hands correct, etc? Suggestions for bands? I have it on a reddish crock, but I don't know if I like it. Doesn't bring out the best in the gold.
Because people all the time come to this forum looking for info on their grandafthers' watches, and I guess I don't believe them-- think they are trying to valuate a watch before selling or buying. I guess it works in my head.
Well, I understood the joke. Clever. It's hard to recommend a different strap without a better bird's eye view of the watch, maybe one from a little farther away? Like this. Not this
I'd go for a dark brown (less red) alligator with a pattern that looks similar to the ones on the Grey Side of the Moon - that strap is too busy. Like this one, but this doesn't go smaller than 18mm https://www.etsy.com/listing/503159...MIwv2E-8Ht2wIVkMDACh3jOAWUEAQYAyABEgIVZ_D_BwE
