I swear this is my grandfather's watch. What can you tell me about this Zenith?

After years of owning this watch, which was given to me by my grandmother, I finally got around to removing the back. (I used to think that the movement would come out through the crystal side, but I recently noticed a seam for a case.) It belonged to my late-grandfather, who passed away when I was a toddler.

From my online research, it looks like a cal 106, rose gold, from 1956. It originally had a rose gold bracelet, but I misplaced it or I think it was taken by some house painters many years ago.

Thoughts, comments, feedback. Hands correct, etc? Suggestions for bands? I have it on a reddish crock, but I don't know if I like it. Doesn't bring out the best in the gold.

I'm just curious why you had to swear that it was your grandfather's watch. 馃槙

Because people all the time come to this forum looking for info on their grandafthers' watches, and I guess I don't believe them-- think they are trying to valuate a watch before selling or buying. I guess it works in my head.

Well, I understood the joke. Clever.

It's hard to recommend a different strap without a better bird's eye view of the watch, maybe one from a little farther away? Like this.

Grandfather = believable and odds are it's authentic.

Uncle = 999 / 1000 fake.
