Make sure you make an unboxing video of the empty box when it comes back. (Not that it will help you much...).
Good luck!

I had exactly the same story, ending with an empty envelope and being forced to refund the buyer solely on the tracking. eBay would not listen. Fortunately it was inside the EEC so there were no customs fees. Eventually I went to the police...

For future reference, add him to your blocked bidders list. I would also do the same for some countries - I don’t want to tar whole nations, but certain countries just seem to be problematic, if not the buyers, then the postal system, so I just block bids from those countries. India is for me, one of them.

Can you not post pictures here of the bracelet and let the OF members confirm it is legit and then guide him to this thread to be convinced ?

I guess some people have nerve...his latest response after I shared this thread with him - screen shot below.

@tdn-dk That’s exactly what he has done already. No effect.

Omege bracelets don't have "serial numbers".

I think he meant "reference number" and the majority of the bracelets have a reference number.
Aside from that there are -as it seems- genuie ones without a refernce number

I know eBay will most probably side with the buyer, but I would just fight it based on principle.

The buyer is full of it and probably has buyer’s remorse.

All the best.

I tihnk that depends on where it was made and by whom. If it was locally made, perhaps not?

Honestly, if the buyer still says it’s fake after seeing this post, there is a 99% chance he’s going to scam you and send an empty package (that you’ll have paid for...). So at least take an unboxing video although I don’t know if it’ll help, from my experience eBay doesn’t give a sh*t about the seller when comes a problem 🤬

Maybe I direct an ebay rep to this thread? 2% chance it might help 🫨 so going in another direction...I wonder where the best place is to sell these days? I notice some sites have through the roof prices and have to wonder when/if the stuff sells. Do you guys just prefer to buy from connections on Omegaforums?

Moral of the story- sell watch stuff here- eBay is becoming a pit of hell for sellers.

edit- just saw you are under the 200 post count. Stick around for a bit and you’ll hit 200 before you know it.

Edit-edit: just saw you have been here since 2017 with only 37 posts....man, you don’t say much!

Pitiful Hell of a Pit. I have been selling there since 1999. Every year the noose got a little tighter. Got to feed the shareholders!😝

I used to sell regularly (in waves when I got a desire to purge), and it was great until around 2015 when eBay stopped listening to sellers and only wanted to do business with you if you have a “store”. I got burned on a a few int’l sales (China and Korea) and started doing only US sales- for which I got flame PM’s. It’s just not worth the headache anymore.

Here is mine for reference- sadly the endlinks are too long for either of the watches for which I bought it, so it lives in a box.

Here is mine from the Mexican market. There is no consistency but the low cost and ready supply back in the day means that the old ones were usually legit. Unfortunately, that is unlikely to help you in this instance. I feel for you.

I appreciate all the kind replies and support/suggestions. I feel better no matter what!
Here’s a pic of a Constellation I sold a little while back...wondering how it got such an outrageous patina? Smoker? Location? Is this a turn-off or desirable feature?

So I'll tell you that what he's expecting is that you will refund his money and tell him to keep the bracelet because it's too much trouble to ship back. I've had at least 3 auctions I've won where there were legit issues with what arrived and when I mentioned it to the seller they immediately refunded my money, including the shipping, and told me to just dispose of the item. I've tried to even send money for shipping costs and been told it was too much trouble.

I can only assume that this is because of the insanely poor seller protection on ebay - it's easier to declare the item a total loss than deal with a buyer. As you might imagine this is a recipe for scamming if your buyer is even slightly unethical and not just an idiot. To be frank, if I were you I would take the offer of a partial refund to him if you want anything for it, otherwise it's almost certainly a total loss and you might as well refund all his money and tell him to keep it - I seriously doubt that whatever arrives to you would be the bracelet.

Ultimately this is the reason why I do not sell on ebay internationally, even using the Global Shipping Program (which has no facility or way of dealing with returns). Saying you don't accept returns means nothing, and the cost to ship an item back can be more than it is worth to you in the first place. Basically you as a seller can and will be left worse off than if you had just donated the item or given it away if they transaction goes poorly.

I realize my last selling experience was a decade ago but how can this be true?
