I received my Connie that I posted about earlier. I have a few questions, is the current Omega recommended replacement crown acceptable, or should I look for an original? The color in the picture is off, the seconds hand is actually orange, is gold correct? Are the fonts standard or transitional?
Can't tell a thing about the fonts from that picture. I think the correct crown is still available from Borel or Cousins so wait for one of the other guys to give you details.
Omega has changed(updated) crowns several times on these and I think the current replacement would be acceptable. Yellow Bestfit 8100/1057 http://www.ofrei.com/page_147.html As to the hands, I suspect all are incorrect.
Dennis could you or someone else post a good picture of both the standard and transitional fonts. Looking under the loupe it looks like the hour and minute hand were dipped in paint.
It looks exactly like the 168.0029 which is what it is. The hour and minute hands were dipped in black paint and an orange second hand fitted.. It's keeping excellent time. As someone who grumbles every time I have to find my glasses to read something, I won't complain about the hands, I'll get them done after i wear the watch a bit. I assume that hand sets are available.
