Hi So this is nice....really nice & so it should be for the asking price: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291327820825?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network However , I requested some further pictures from the Seller....and: The handset has 'lost' it age from what I can see....look at the chrono spear hand , minute hand & tip of the hour hand. And those 516 end links have shrunk in the wash too ! Of course I am not sure which are the before & after shots ??? Best - Neil
That's an hard one. Something happened to the end links, that may make one suspicious. (strange...) But I would say that it is the same watch. Attached you find the pic from ebay.
Neil Must be different watches which can occur when wrong pic inadvertently uploaded? Ebay shows 516 ELs ...
Evening Mr Steed What do you think now....Seller tells me they are exactly the same Watch and nothing has been changed Best - Neil
That's the pic I saw as well. Though it shows some gap, the gap further above seems bigger but may merely be more pronounced as its magnified ... Suspect way too much polishing of the lugs but wow, if that's the case, the guy must dozed off .... Still puzzling, that gap
IMHO seller making this difficult. There's usually a reason but something certainly isn't right here There's gotta be a reason for he gap. Heck it's still on IF no change in lug size but I can't determine ... if it's only the end links
There doesn´t appear to me to be any problem with the case. If you look at the end of the bracelet it is clearly wider than the endlinks and also the correct width for the width between the lugs. The issue is the swapped and trimmed 516´s
Hi and someone has done something with that handset too....I preferred the aged set....although I have no idea which setup you would actually receive....which put me off as what else would get 'swapped' ? Best - Neil
Hands could have just been cleaned, or of course touched up. To me not a big deal if disclosed/done well. Have you specifically asked about the end link missing millimetres?
Hi C Let's not forget this is a pretty expensive 145.022-68....so it needs to be really good to command this sort of money....anyway: My query: "the end pieces are not the same....compare the picture attached with your ebay listing photo number 1 & 2....the fit is very different ! The Handset patina does not look the same to me either....chrono spear hand and minute hand aged areas plus the tip of the hour hand. Do you have the original source pictures uploaded to ebay for listing pictures 1 & 2 please....I can then compare again." The Sellers reply: "I assure you that the watch is 100% original and has never changed anything at all if you want more you step photos as you want and if you do not like or you do not care nothing happens" Best - Neil
My answer was purely based on the watch. The price I find, to put it politely, a little on the high side Regarding the seller´s answer......I think you already know enough there
Cameras can play tricks... a small angle change, different lighting, etc.. But, I just can't get over that end link gap in one pic, and no gap whatsoever in the other. I would agree the watch looks to be the same in each pic ( a few distinct marks on the bezel are the same in both pics), but the end links look to have been changed, and possibly the hands cleaned up a bit, although I'm less confident of that. If I was a potential buyer, I would ask for more pics, higher resolution, in good lighting. There are some doubts here, but this is where the some decide to boldly go where no buyer has gone before. Good luck.
Someone has been really messing with this bracelet. Last link in hinge side of clasp cover on backwards. Only 20 links out of 26 for full bracelet. At least 4 of the Stretch links are gone. And the tabs on the 516's don't look correct.(filed maybe or worse) Not to mention the short endlinks. Replace 516 endlinks, $225., if you can find them. Replace stretch links, $35. x4 = $140. So $265. to make the bracelet right.
