I never knew the Aero compax was a duel time zone watch.

I always thought it was a "businessman's chronograph" with a memento dial.... but according to the "expert" at this auction house it's a dual time zone watch!!!

Well to be fair if I saw it, I’d assume that is what it was.

That's what it should have been.

Romanian fighter pilots from WW2 had Aero-Compax UGs issued to them.

So, for me, these are WW2 fighter pilot chronos...

Yes, they probably carved out room in the main plate for a small quarts movement ::stirthepot::

Well................it is a "dual time zone watch" with the "dual time" dial being correct twice each day.

This is the reply from the auction house
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Upon advice from our watch consultant I will not be amending this description, though I do acknowledge it is not a dual time zone in the traditional sense, perhaps make a note to self, concerning any cataloguing discrepancy you perceive.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I only pointed the discrepancy out as I didn't want them to have problems down the line with the purchaser.

This isn't a dual time watch in any sense!!

Remember guys, these people are experts!!!

Imagine if it had said that it was a fighter plane.

"Well, not in the traditional sense..."

In my experience, half of the times you contact an aution house re. incorrect listings you'll get a positive response, half of the times you'll get utter nonsense.

Their reply can be summarised like this: “Ohhh, yes, you are right but we choose to remain dumb”.

I read their reply as, "How 'bout you keep your #$%&@ mouth shut."
