while looking at pawn shops today, I found this seamaster. 14 karat gold filled. Is the dial original? Six hundred and forty two dollars out the door I think is a good price if the dial is original. View attachment 92206

Looks ok to me, price is not worth it though IMO. It's more of a $300-400 watch.

thank you I did pass on the watch they would not deal at all with the price. I never like a pawn shop will not negotiate!

Bill, I felt looking at it that there was an imperfection between Sea and master that made me feel repaint. I was going to suggest that perhaps "Seamaster" may have been added. I'm glad you didn't buy it.

Everyone has the right to make a living, but I feel that car title loan companies, pawn shops, some finance companies, etc. are like vultures pecking on what's left of some people's dignity and future.
I know, I know, they provide a needed service, I worked for one for 4 years when I got out of the Army until I couldn't stand it anymore.

As much as I love Chumlee on Pawnstars, I still get a bad taste in my mouth dealing with the moneylenders and I avoid them.

That imperfection might be the crystal. I'm with Kyle - the dial looks okay to me. After owning several of these late 50's and very early 60's full rotor automatics, I can say it's certainly the right font. Can't say if the lugs are okay or bent, because macro has that fish eye effect.

I think the watch looks to be in pretty good shape, but I'm with Kyle on the value. Remember that if it's been sitting in the pawn shop, it likely needs a service, so that's another $100+ on top of your price.

Not a good value, I'm afraid.

That was my very first draw to the dial! But, all the font of the SEA and MASTER is correct in my eyes. The case was very crisp!
It did wind a bit hard. I offered $550 and they stood on $600 plus tax as it was already "25%" off today.
BTY, this is the same shop that had the redial salmon seamaster a while back.

Edit: I also hit on a more people friendly shop today that has a 1974 Speedmaster coming in a week or so. All over that one.

Edit. Is this watch missing a Bezel?

No. It's bevelled and visible in your photograph.

It's quite sharp, which is unusual for gold-filled or gold-capped cases.

Watch is in decent shape and only worth what they are asking if it has been serviced and has an original Omega band and buckle IMHO

As others have said, way too expensive.

I bought this recently for 350. So they are out there.

I think more as Hoi said, but the point is, there are bargains, you just have to patiently hunt for them.

I have watched eBay for some time and watches like this rarely sell for over $400.

Quite often...not trying to start a fight....these are not that uncommon. In the past 2 months I have bought Seamaster, Geneve, and Deville cases with 565 movements and paid well under $300. Your case may be in nice condition, but it is nowhere near worth $1000. Not even close.
