I need help with replacing links on an Omega 1117 bracelet......

This is the kind with "spring bar" type pins, not screws or solid bars. They are easy enough to remove (just depress the pin from each side), but so far at least are a bitch to replace. I suspect there is some trick to this that I am overlooking...........Any suggestions appreciated.
