I might get some hate for my new acquisition...

Was the 36k BPH Seiko a Lord Marvel? Those are super cool watches as well, since they paved the way to Seiko's Hi-Beat watches we know and love today.

I was looking for the Grand Seiko ones which used a different 36k movement; there's a bit of history to Seiko having two separate subsidiaries compete with each other, this article delves briefly into it, complete with pics of GS GoD models .

Indeed - it's really quite a fun read (especially thinking about how Seiko used its friendly competition between factories as a way to drastically improve their placement during the Swiss chronometer trials.

If you get hate for that lovely piece, then people will have an absolute fit over the most accurate watch in my collection 馃槈. Gotta love the easy pick up n go practicality of a quartz/digital!

I have 3 Seiko Quartz, 2 Pulsar Quartz, 1 Casio, and 2 Accutrons. I realize the Accutrons aren鈥檛 quartz but they are battery powered. I think I also have a quartz pocket watch somewhere. No love loss here.

Hey all,

Decided that I'd need at least 1 quartz watch in my collection, and figured I might as well get a HAQ (High accuracy Quartz) watch that would be competitive in looks to my mechanicals. Decided on this Seiko 1981 King Quartz with the famous Grammar of Design elements.

All of you mechanical watch lovers out there, please don't hate me for turning to the dark side! 馃槻

If the watch is from the time that quartz was new! shiny! expensive! enough to have the word on the dial then it's perfectly acceptable.

Oh nooooo! Twenty quid Casios still do 馃槻

I nearly repudiated what you said then I remembered that I was gifted this little gem lady year for Father's Day. So I do have one quartz watch, it just never gets worn.
That鈥檚 ace!
