I love the “WRUW Today?” thread! I find it therapeutic.

Yup.

I’m not just addicted, I find it soothing and a way to relax. I love figuring what I like. To like a watch is just a tiny bit like buying it, that rush of choice and decision.

Of course, I find myself jealous a fair amount. But even that’s good because WRUW Today teaches me that it would be impossible to own everything that I want. Helps me be realistic.

But, Hannibal Lector, in answering the question “How do we begin to covet?” responded “We begin with what we see everyday.” So maybe I’m not in the clear.

(Some of the family in a group shot.)

What do you think?

Great collection you have there!

I have to spin through wruw quickly, or not at all. Otherwise, I spend way more money than I have for watches.

... I love figuring what I like...

What do you think?

Took me 0.5 nanoseconds to figure out you like Speedmasters .... and I’m a slow learner. 🙄

I have to not look sometimes, usually when im eating beans aftetr buying a watch i noticed on WRUW that i didnt know existied prior.
Been here a while and still surprised at new makers and models that pop up that hadn't noticed before.

Dont know how many rabbit holes it has sent me down over the years. 😗

I think you have a problem.

Too much money...

That does cut.

I hate thinking about it or them that way.

Don't get me wrong, I wish I had the same malady.

No, I figured.

I’m not comfortable with the value of some of these watches. I certainly don’t tell friends such things. To me anyway, it’s embarrassing.

Visually, the dial is exceedingly attractive for a tool watch. The fonts, the layout and sizing - I don’t think there are very many tool watches that beat it. Not the Daytona or Zenith or Breitling, to me anyway.

And I love that it’s not just mechanical but hand wind, every day.

I love the history and the continuity.

I have other watches, but none do I enjoy more.

That's the advantage of vintage. My friends all think I just wear a ratty old watch. 😉

I ordered my first Speedy today, pre owned 3594.50, just because of that evil thread. I want to “fit in” with this fine community on Tuesdays. I caved to peer pressure.

Btw, nice collection 👍

Yes, you can developer some serious envy on that thread. Which can lead to expensive purchases.

Spot on with this comment. Five years ago no big deal responding it is an Omega when asked what brand. Not many knew the brand. Too many people know Omega and what these cost.

My gold speedy skeleton has no name or logo. I like that. I may pass it off as an Invicta, next time I'm asked. I don't want anyone in my business.

I think you need some variety. Man cannot live by Speedmasters alone - ain't that right Marc / @gemini4?

Wow. And this coming from someone whose forum name is telling us all that we lack focus. I think I’ve shown focus.
