Great watch. I prefer the standard display for practical reasons, but that watch does have a great look.

Nice! Can’t go wrong with a G-shock. And love that your nephew wants an actual watch

I think if he had just said he wanted a G-Shock I would not have picked this particular model out of all of the options available. But it definitely is distinctive with the all black look and lighter numerals. And really, if he's put enough thought into the specific one he wants, then he should get that one. In some ways wish lists are a blessing and a curse. You know the recipient wants the thing you're giving, but the loss of the element of a surprise is a bit of a bummer sometimes.

Got an 84w when in Japan 24 years ago but lost it. My first watch. Had another delivered from Japan recently. Put it on a nato today. Had that nostalgic feeling!

Can’t go wrong with Casio

I had a succession of Wave Ceptors for a long time, the last having solar so I never had to change the battery or set the time. But this year I got a Casio MDV-106A dive watch as a 25th anniversary gift at work, so that's what I usually wear day to day. The Omega Geneva Dynamic I got from my dad a couple months ago is also in the rotation for a daily wearer, but I sent it in for an estimate on servicing last week, so not sure when it'll be back in my grubby little hands.

My 5 year old just sniped my F91W out of my watch box yesterday. Fine by me, I never wear it. Cheapest hype watch I got sucked into. Now there is space for another… Omega? 😁

The G-Shock was a hit! I decided to not leave the other two nephews out of the watch giving and got them each the same Casio MDF-106A that I mentioned above.

The G-Shock actually ended up looking bigger on the wrist than I had predicted, but it was a good look. And the display is really nice. Very discreet effect when it lights up.
