I have the gratest respect and admiration for some of the 2998s recently shown.
I do also like a watch that has character, and that can be worn without soooo much fear of damage or even loss.
I aquired this with a NOS suprluminova dial. I found the dial it now wears, on the bay of evil, for under $30.
Clearly my tastes are not shared by those with money....which suits me!
Movement is fully service of course:

And the colours of the bezel and dial are true representations, at least on my screen

There's a lot to be said for having a pre-Professional as a daily beater!

So much so, Omega issued the First Omega In Space (FOIS) for the scaredy-cats who didn't want to wear a 2998 as a daily beater. It was fairly well received from what I've read.
I wonder if people actually buy user-grade 2998's?
    I know no one is buying user-grade 105.012-65's! :(

Plenty of character and a great daily wearer! I wear my beat up 105.012-67 much more than the pristine one. There is a certain freedom knowing an extra scratch will not make much of a difference to the condition/value of the watch.

Now if Omega were to make a limited edition with that dial in a FOIS case with hesalite then that would make one hot seller ;)
