    2998-6 on EBay
    Pictures and Description indicate a Seller lacking basic knowledge of his 321 Speedie.
    No problem charging an inflated price however.
    Price: $29,946 + $6.50 for first class postage ::facepalm1::

    There have been quite a few 2998s on the bay in recent weeks with obvious issues across the board

    Yeah, well I long to be back in the days when girls took the pill, clap could be cured easily and AIDS was not even a blip on the radar.

    You know, this thread could have been titled "I Long For The Days When Clueless Sellers Sold Vintage watches For Reasonable Prices" but it always has to be about Speedmasters, doesn't it.

    @gemini4 - after seeing some of your other stellar pieces from Breguet and your vintage Rancheros, I'd think you'd be more open minded.

    Before AIDS was on the radar, there was herpes. Memories of the Good Old Days are selective.

    4-5 years ago I went to a flea market near Marseille in France and there was a 145.012 with Omega service records (still under warranty) with the original bracelet and looking very very good, seller wanted 1200 EUR...

    Try finding that now :)

    @ulackfocus don't you think that that was a good buy at 17,5k$

    It looked good to my eyes, and had a good part of the 7912 bracelet with it.

    As a leading Speedy expert on the Forum, I think it would be interesting to hear your judgement :)

    I think that we haven't seen it for the last time. I'm sure it'll pop up again somewhere soon

    First I can't imagine how anyone would pay big money for a watch with presentaion as poor as this. Secondly if this is legit and despite terrible shots, it looks ok, the seller is entitled to get market price. If the critique here is the presentation, yes, well deserved. Dumb buyer, again well deserved. (Unless they demanded better pics). If the critique is about putting a 2998-6 out for auction on e bay for max return, to paraphrase Don Barzini in GF 1 "after all gentlemen, we are not communists."

    If it were 17,500 Pesos or Yen it was a really good deal. :p ::stirthepot::
