So sue me. I just spent $7.61 U.S. dollars for an obviously redialed mechanical. That's the price with shipping. Why would I do this? Because I need a beater. And I would rather have an old mechanical than anything available new that costs under $100 because they are just so bleeping fugly! It's as if sub $100 watches are required to be ugly in order to justify spending more. No question this sucker may die after a few days of use. But why not? I'll be out less than $8. Whatever. I'll wear it while biking or when hitting the gym. I need something on my wrist. Going naked just seems wrong to me. If the watch proves relatively reliable after a few weeks of use I'll stick it on a nylon Nato. http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-HMT...IXt9VJ913dpBE%2B5ezhA%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=ncPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
That may not even be a redial. Remember that HMTs are actually manufactured for the indian market, so that may be a factory color.
HMT use a stoic Citizen hand wind movement so you might not be able to kill it, start getting used to the bright blue . . .
$5 it smells like indian curry when you get it.....those mail bags are always full of food and spices
Nice pick up, and a cool color, I don't care what Dennis says! Or maybe his comment was a compliment, since he's probably just jealous of your find[emoji1] I just slipped on my beater for some work around the house. Perhaps I over paid for mine; it was 25 bucks..
The seller has tons of watches to choose from and I think i snagged the nicest piece. I'm strangely excited about the purchase.
Look that's a collectible watch......so be gentle with it http://blogs.reuters.com/india/2014/09/19/fans-rush-to-hmt-as-watchmaker-marks-time/ They are well known as 'dowry watch' . Marriage proposing gift for many Indian people back in 60s and 70s.
