Let me know if you have any good suggestions! Here's a bit about me:
-I have skinny wrists, so I like the 36-38.5mm range
-I prefer simple/clean watches
-Manual wind is awesome!
-The only watch I own right now is a UG polerouter

I'm thinking about these, unless someone recommends not to for some reason:

http://www.amazon.com/Timex-TW2P714...4903&sr=1-11&nodeID=7141123011&keywords=timex

And also might throw in these, just for fun...someone please stop me:

A new Bergeon Spring bar tool, some spare springbars
Few spare straps is were I would throw any spare money.

Once you start getting a few nice watches cheap stuff will sit in a draw for years...

You can NEVER go wrong with a Seiko for a beater mechanical watch. Orient for that matter also.

Do NOT waste your money on any other watch you linked to. They're junk and you'll regret any of those purchases. Keep the money and add to it until you can buy a decent respectable watch.

I much prefer a Speedy for a chronograph over a timex 😝, so my vote goes for the Seiko. I have two Seiko 5 sports, and in my opinion best value in watches.

A similar, recently purchased Seiko 5 on the wrist. Fantastic quality and value for money. Slap on a cheap Nato and you are good to go 😀

And just so all bases are covered, an Orient Blue Mako (older style)

I'm going to pick up a Seiko 5 in another month or two so you are duly advised that I am biased in favor and with that will move on.

I'd skip the Timex simply because it is quartz unless you just really want a back up watch that you can throw on and not worry about winding or setting.

The GuTe reviews are entertaining with comments like the clear back allows you to see how poorly machined the parts are, the evidence of dirt trapped inside the watch, and of course, "opened the box and it didn't work". Hey its mechanical and at $18 there is probably more dollars in profit in there than I'd like to think about.

Stuhrling, I can't hate on it as eagerly but I can't embrace the whole we bought the name of a master Swiss watchmaker, we are based in NY, we claim to adhere to the Swiss standards of watchmaking and make 'em in China thing. Really at that cost why not Seiko or Orient where you have higher confidence in the engineering and manufacturing.

Don't rule out Orient. The Tri-Star is right in the price level you are looking at. It's not my taste but it'd be presumptuous of me to tell you the Seiko 5 is superior because I like the look of it better, it's your wrist not mine.
