I like Sinn. I have a 556a that was a very nice gift from my folks for completing my graduate work. I am still eying a chronograph from Sinn, likely a 103 or an older Lemania-powered one would be great!

I really like that copper dial. An acquaintance is very into Sinn watches, so that was one of two brands I looked at seriously when I decided to get a new watch last year. I came vey close to pulling the trigger on that one, but in the end decided not too because I wanted to try a bigger watch. I picked up a UX-T that I was very happy with, but the copper dial kept calling to me. In a desperate attempt to squash the desire I signed up for a the blue-dialed 103 LE, which just arrived earlier in the week and is still waiting to be unboxed.

the only thing somewhat "boring" about the Sinns is they use mostly run-of-the-mill movements ... so just looking at the layout of their dials tells you what movement they source ... so there is no REAL incentive to buy them as there are typically 10 other watches that look just the same ...

If you buy watches based solely on the movements you might have a point. People on forums tend to want to "over justify" their choices sometimes it seems. I didn't buy the Sinn I had and sold to Ed because of anything other than I liked it - for me that was enough and I didn;t need any special movement to make it a watch that I really enjoyed.

And certainly Sinn does use technology that is not common in some of their watches. Some for the movements (like Diapal) and some for the cases (copper sulfate capsule, nitrogen filled watches, and oil filled quartz watches).

In my view they are generally well priced and well made.

That 101 is incredible. I would love to find one of those, but they are like hen's teeth.

Here are my current Sinns, confessed here for all of you to see. I used to have an 8826 Ti and a 356 Sa St too but they have both moved on.
