Omega #1068 bracelet, different ends, #523 and #529, partially disassembled. Came with my 198.001 F300hz.
I love the watch and I'd like to send it out for service to include a new calendar wheel. But its about $400 for the work.
Since I don't have a use, I think, for the Omega bracelet, I was thinking I'd sell it to help finance the repairs on the watch but have no idea if it is better to keep it with the watch or if its even correct for the model. With some bracelets listing for $20 and others for much more, I'd appreciate some guidance as to what I have and what the smart move is.

If you search on eBay using the reference no 1068 you'll get a decent sense of the market price for these.

 

Thank you, I've been checking. I dont even know if this is complete for use on a watch. Or if I should keep it. I've read through a number of threads here to seek out what I'd like to know. But I havent figured it out yet. Perhaps someone can chime in as to what they see.

 

Looks like a pins come out which is why one end has separated. This will affect the price slightly.

Probably worth around £100

 

This is accurate, If you put it up for auction I would estimate it would go £50-80. You might be able to get £100 on a buy it now over a couple of months. Replacing the pin is relatively easy if you know what you are doing, and in complete condition it will be about £150 with a buy it now on eBay, and around £100 on an auction.

Would it be better to sort out its parts with better end pieces, Matching anyways, and required pins and keep it with the watch? Not sure if it'd be correct with a circa 1970 198.001 F300.

 

I believe this model originally came with 556 endlinks. However it is certainly possible that when purchased the AD just put these endlinks on, alternatively they may have been added in service. The bracelet is correct for the model. I don't think anyone really cares if they are original or not to be honest, as long as they fit well. I would keep it with the watch. The pins are not very difficult to source.

 

thank you. What is the proper name for the pins that I'm looking for? Does it appear to be complete otherwise? It seems short.
Are 556 endlinks 18 or 19mm? My watch is 19mm lugs

 

This data is missing from my table, I would put it on the watch and see if it fits (if you measure it please let me know its measurements).

Easiest way to get the pins is to be patient and keep an eye on eBay for a broken bracelet. It also depends on what part(s) of the bracelet you are missing and how long you need the bracelet. If the pin has broken near the clasp, it will be an easier job as these are made to be removed.
