I had no idea that Omega made a 44mm speedy...

Curious. So now that you know, how do you feel about it?

I was offered this for $5700 (pre-owned) but I turned it down. Solid watch, but didn't want another watch I would not wear. I also liked the orange hand one better. Maybe not the latest edition, but these can be had at a discount, if anyone is inclined.

It did feel like it could be a one and done. Definitely had a presence.

They have had supersized models for about 20 years Foo. When they rolled out the 9900 movement they did so in bigger cases like these above but prior to that they used to do a 3 dial model with the 3313 which looks just like a supersized Pro, the only real give away being the date field at 6. I have a pic side by side with a 42mm. I’ll dig it out. You don't see them too often, they were routinely priced above the normal Pro levels and I suspect they sold way fewer as a result .They are all too big for my wrist and the dial looks strangely wrong here IMO.

Here it is, LHS is black dial 44mm 3313, RHS 42mm :

These are basically the Dark Side models in steel

(or more accurately, the Dark Side lineup was basically just these 9900 models in ceramic)

I recently got the one with the white dial. I absolutely love it but I do feel that it's at the maximum limit of my 8.6 inch wrist.

Also, as beautiful as the bracelet is, I feel that this model looks its best on a strap. I have one on order and patiently awaiting its arrival.

Incorrect. The Dark Side/Grey Side/White Side are the ceramic versions of the Cal.9300 Speedmaster Moonwatch Co-axial released in 2012. The case shape is very different to the Racing Master Chronometer Cal.9900 watches.

The Speedmaster Super Racing has the Spirate System, which increases the potential accuracy of the watch as it allows the adjustment to be much finer. It's specified to be within 0 to 2 seconds fast per day, and typically is accurate to within one second per day.

I took a look at them recently - they are definitely nice watch porn! But given that the rest of my collection sports the lowly, traditional balance wheels, I didn't feel like letting go of the extra dough that the Super Racing commands, to end up with one watch that is more accurate than the rest of them. Then I'd end up playing favorites among the children. And I wanted the white one anyway.

They are all 44mm cases which is the point of the thread. I would say the black ceramic cases wear smaller. Having the hour and minutes hands on the same sub-dial also allows for a neat second time zone feature if you start the chronograph at 12.

I'm probably an odd bird, but I fell in love with the 44mm Speedy before the 42mm. I felt the urge to buy the the original Apollo 8 DSOTM because of how similar, yet opposite the black manual wind 1869 was to the white, automatic 9900 movement!

Somehow in the last 4 years half a dozen of the 42mm Speedies have become part of my collection but I'm always very happy to see more big watches released (and get tired of all the weeny 38mm's releases).

@EuroDriver Please post pics of your 44mm Racing on the strap once you get it! Thanks!

Quick update: I opted against the OEM racing strap due to the black stitching - I think the white stitching gives it a nice flair.

I ordered an aftermarket one, which looks like it's going to take a couple of weeks to arrive. In the meantime, this one arrived which I originally planned to use on my PO but it will have to make do on the Speedy for the time being
